1. Hair Donation Requirements:
- Length: Natural hair (untreated with chemicals such as perming, straightening, or dyeing) needs to be at least 25cm (approximately 10 inches) long. Chemically treated hair needs to be at least 35cm (approximately 14 inches) long to ensure sufficient length for wig making.
- Condition: Hair should be healthy, clean, and free from severe damage (split ends, excessive dryness).
- Chemically Treated Hair: Chemically treated hair (permed, straightened, dyed) can still be donated, but the quality of the resulting wig may not be as good as that made from natural hair.
- Gray Hair: Gray hair is accepted.
- Storage Time: Cut hair should be stored for no more than 2 years from the date of cutting.
2. How to Cut and Store Hair:
- Wash Hair: Wash your hair thoroughly and let it dry completely before cutting.
- Tie Hair: Tie hair into several small, secure bundles using hair ties (small, soft hair ties are recommended). It is advisable to divide the hair into several small sections to prevent tangling during cutting.
- Cut Hair: Cut the hair just above the hair tie.
- Storage: Place the cut bundles of hair into a clean, dry zip-top bag or plastic bag. Then, place the zip-top bag into an envelope or cardboard box to prevent damage during transportation.
